Skills for Safer Living (SfSL) is a four-week group program for youth ages 12-24 who have suicide ideation and their caregivers. This project is being funded by the Government of Alberta and FCSS Calgary.
Taking this 1-2 hour online course will train you to recognize when someone has thoughts of suicide and take action to connect them to an intervention provider.
After attending a workshop, participants feel more confident to identify and willing to help people considering suicide. Anyone can respond to a person thinking about suicide when they’re equipped with information, knowledge, and skills.

I am feeling more comfortable asking if someone has had thoughts of suicide. Even asking someone can let them know that they are heard and I feel more prepared to have that conversation.

The best part for me is knowing to ask the question (Are you thinking about suicide?) and that asking is not going to make someone think about harming themselves.
