Centre for Suicide Prevention hosted the 4th annual Run for Life from Sept. 19 – 26, 2021!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this virtual journey from darkness to light to remember loved ones lost to suicide and raise awareness for suicide prevention. The community fostered by participants online by sharing photos, reflections, grief, and hope was amazing.
Run for Life 2021 was our biggest run yet with 425 participants and 47 teams participating.
Run for Life participants joined in by doing any physical activity, anywhere, anytime between Sunday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 26.
Some of the activities they completed as part of the event included the following:
- 5 – 10 km run
- Memorial walk
- Bike ride
Many participants also shared photos of loved ones lost to suicide and also posted about Run for Life 2021 using our social media kit.
The week began with a welcome video on Sunday, Sept. 19.
Thank you to our sponsors
These generous contributions helped make Run for Life possible.
Run for Life pop-ups
We hosted pop-ups at Kinsmen Park in Strathmore on Sept. 25 and in the East Village in Calgary on Sept 26 – we look forward to bringing pop-ups to other communities in the future!
A prize was given to the highest individual fundraiser, and the team captain of the largest Run for Life team. Participants were also drawn for prizes by:
- Sharing on social media using #RunforLife2021
- Visiting a Run for Life pop-up in Strathmore or Calgary
