In this article, the association of epilepsy & antiepileptic drugs with psychiatric disease & suicidality are reviewed, perspective as to the significance & limitations of the American Food and Drug Administration’s findings are discussed, & some options for suicidality screening & their potential utility in clinical care are evaluated.
