Role of Self and Other Forgiveness in Predicting Depression and Suicide Ideation of Divorcees

This study surveyed the ability of forgiveness of self & forgivness of others to predict depression & suicide ideation among divorced women. 124 divorced women in Kermanshah City participated & completed the Forgivness Questionnaire, the Beck Depression Inventory, & the Beck Suicide Ideation Scale. Findings showed significant negative correlation of forgivness of self & others to depression & suicide ideation. Results of multivariate regression through an enter method also showed that forgiveness of self explained significant values of variance of depression & suicide ideation. (16 refs.)
