Abstract
Developing and Implementing a National Strategy for Suicide Prevention – the Norwegian Experience
Mehlum L
The Norwegian national strategy for suicide prevention, the second of its kind in the world, launched in 1994, has been developed through several phases over the last decade. Although a main focus has been put on health-related measures, a range of additional arenas for suicide prevention have been targeted, including educational programmes, public information, restriction of access to suicide methods, & postvention. This paper briefly presents some of the activities that have taken place. (3 refs.)
