IMPACT Collaborative Care Programme Reduces Suicide Ideation in Depressed Older Adults

Unutzer et al (2006) reported the reduction of suicide ideation in depressed older adults participating in a collaborative care programme. In this commentary, Gilbody briefly notes how a collaborative care package should be designed to include the regular supervision of case managers, the employment of case managers with a mental health background, & fidelity to the basic collaborative care model used in the trial by Unutzer & colleagues.
