Re: Suicidal Behaviour in Children and Adolescents. Part 2: Treatment and Intervention

In this letter to the editor, the authors comment on a review of suicidal behaviour in children & adolescents by Steele & Doey (2006). Katz and colleagues briefly report on a study they have done that suggests inpatient treatment may reduce suicide ideation, suicidal behaviour, & nonsuicidal self-injurious behaviour. The study examined the effect of a dialectical behavour therapy program modified for suicidal adolescents inpatients. The response of Steele & Doey follows. (4 refs.)
