This study examined whether common indicators of suicide risk differ between adolescents engaging in non-suicidal self-injury who have & have not attempted suicide. Data were collected from 540 midwest high school students. Results suggest that adolescents who engage in non-suicidal self-injury who also attempt suicide can be differentiated from adolescents who only engage in non-suicidal self-injury on measures of suicide ideation, reasons for living, & depression. Clinical implications of the findings are discussed. (45 refs.)
