Dialoguing With Suicide: the Therapist’s Personal Experience of a Client’s Completed Suicide

The author had conversations with various therapists about their experiences of client suicide. The focus of this study is on the personal & professional experiences of the therapists. Common themes which emerged from the various narratives were analysed against the backdrop of historical patterns of suicide. The personal experience of the researcher is also included & compared with the narratives of the research participants in an attempt to uncover a shared narrative. (121 refs.)
