This study focused on the relationship between the occurrence of specific Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Adolescent basic scale profile patterns & the frequency of endorsement of 3 items related, in varying degrees, to suicide ideation. 348 adolescents with diagnoses of depression, conduct disorder, & other psychiatric disorders were studied. Significant relationships were found for the overall basic scale profile, several single scale high points, & specific two-point codetype groupings. Findings revealed higher basic clinical scale profiles for those adolescents endorsing suicide ideation. (22 refs.)
