An initiative to train rehabilitation & disability staff working in the field of traumatic brain injury is described. 86 participants completed 2 evaluation measures (objective knowledge test, self-rating of knowledge & skills) on 3 occasions (pre-, post-, & 6-month follow-up). Compared to a control group, workshop participants made significant gains in objective knowledge & reported skills, & maintained these at the 6-month follow-up. The Suicide Interview Response Inventory-2 was administered to a subgroup of participants & results correlated significantly with scores from the objective knowledge test. (39 refs.)
