Experiences of Belittlement and Harassment and Their Correlates Among Medical Students in the United States: Longitudinal Survey

The objective of this article is to determine 2884 medical studentsÁø perceptions of having been harassed or belittled in 2003 for the purpose of reducing such abuses in the United States. Students were given surveys. 13% reported the harassment they encountered was severe. Other statistics are provided. The author concludes that the majority of medical students reported of being harassed or belittled during their training, however, only a few cases were seen as severe. (19 refs.)(CH)
