In this letter to the editor, Benazzi comments on an article by Juurlink et al on the risk that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors may induce suicide during the first month of therapy relative to other antidepressants. Benazzi asserts that it is not antidepressants that induce suicidality but the poor use of them. Juurlink’s response follows. (5 refs.)
