Death by Their own Hands – A Statistical Study of Suicides in Nebraska During 1968

This statistical study collected data, for the year 1968, from the official records in the State Department of HealthÕs Division of Vital Statistics. It was found that 132 Nebraskans died by suicide in the state during 1968. This article analyzes the factors that surrounded the deaths such as, age, sex, & geographic distribution, occupation, means of suicide, means by sex, location, & race. (3 refs)
