This article discusses the importance of having suicide prevention training for school professionals. Steps to help teachers feel more confident in identifying at-risk students include: developing a district wide policy, establishing crisis intervention teams in each school, providing training about adolescent suicide, ensuring that school personnel know the appropriate steps to take when a student threatens suicide, & including suicide prevention education in the curriculum.
