This article offers a systematically designed scale to measure attitudes toward euthanasia & attempts to encompass previously unspecified dimensions of the phenomenon that are central to the euthanasia debate. Active & passive euthanasia, no chance for recovery & severe pain, & patientÕs autonomy & doctorÕs authority are all delineated. Internal consistency is established with CronbachÕs alpha = .871. Construct of external consistency is established by correlating the scale with other predictors such as race & spirituality. (LC) (16 refs)
