A Voluntary Euthanasia Bill was brought before the British House of Lords in March 1969. This article notes that the bill was defeated, likely expressing the the opinion of most medical professionals but not all. It was speculated the campaign to legalize voluntary euthanasia would continue & for this reason, doctors needed to be clear about the meaning of euthanasia.
