Suicide and the Media: Recommendations on Suicide Reporting for Media Professionals

This booklet aims to assist frontline journalists to become more aware of the potential positive & negative influences that may incur as a result of their reporting of suicide. To supplement existing guidelines, the booklet provides relevant research results & experiences from various countries, focusing on the goal of minimizing the “copycat effects” of suicide on vulnerable populations while at the same time preserving the freedom of the press.
