The author reports on various initiatives to improve the detection & treatment of suicidal college students in the U.S. Strategies described here include an online screening project to assess students for suicidal ideation &/or behaviour, a change from scheduled appointments to a walk-in system for same-day treatment, the improvement of clinical standards & referral practices, & the promotion of online mental health resources among the college student population.
