Emotional distress, suicidal behaviors, & violence involvement were compared among those adolescents with & without learning disabilities. Adolescents with learning disabilities had twice the risk of emotional distress, & females were at twice the risk of attempting suicide than their peers. Connectedness to parents & school was identified as most strongly associated with diminished emotional distress, suicide attempts, & violence involvement among adolescents with learning disabilities. Implications are discussed. (29 refs)
