Risk Factors for the Repetition of Suicidal Behaviour: a 5-Year Follow-up Study

This study aimed at determining the risk factors for repeated suicidal behaviour & describing the effects of psychiatric characteristics & treatment on repetition of suicidal behaviour by means of a 5-year follow-up study. A significantly elevated risk for repeating was found for long-term pharmacological treatment during follow-up. Psychotherapeutic treatment was found to reduce the risk for repetition of suicidal behaviour. (17 refs)
