A Multicenter Study About Neurobiological Parameters of Suicidal Behavior

In the frame of a German Research Project – “Competence Nets in Medicine” – the Competence Net Depression was funded in 1999 with 20,000,000 DM for 5 years. 4,500,000 DM of this funding was allotted to the Teilprojekt “Suicidality,” which was further broken down into 4 subprojects. 1 of these, “Subprojekt 1.5: Neurobiology of Suicidal Behavior” is discussed in this paper. Hypotheses, design of the study & logistics are outlined.
