This book presents the proceedings of the 8th European Congress on Suicide & Suicidal Behaviour, held in Bled, Slovenia, September 6-9, 2000. The book contains 4 major parts within which the authors are listed in alphabetical order: 1) the invited plenary contributions, 2) the selected oral papers, 3) some posters, & 4) an appendix, in which 5 eminent & knowledgeable suicidologists describe their lifelong ideas, beliefs, dilemmas & thoughts on suicide & how to understand it.
