A literature review of the relation between religiousness & adolescent well-being is presented, along with analyses from a large adolescent data base. Religiosity in adolescents is positively associated with prosocial values & behavior, & negatively related to suicide ideation & attempts, substance abuse, premature sexual involvement, & delinquency. The article concludes with policy suggestions for integrating religion’s prosocial influences into larger societal programs. (66 refs)
