The author argues that Finland’s contribution to suicide prevention has been, & continues to be, out of proportion to its population. This brief review, written from the perspective of the other side of the world in Australia, & with the assistance of some knowledge of the history of the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), aims to give credit to Finland’s remarkable achievement.
