This case study illustrates the treatment of a male client with kleptomania in which depression, suicidal ideation, & potential legal complications are present. Treatment strategies included covert sensitization, behavioral chaining, problem solving, cognitive restructuring, & use of homework. On completion of treatment, symptoms of depression & kleptomania had decreased significantly, confirmed at 16-week follow-up. Treatment complications are discussed, & recommendations to clinicians are made. (24 refs)
