Information Dissemination in Schools: Issue Brief 1 (IN: Youth Suicide Prevention School-Based Guide, developed by the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute)

This chapter discusses the need for effective school suicide prevention programs to be facilitated by knowledgeable staff. The authors emphasize the need for information dissemination about adolescent suicide to all parents & staff. Suggestions for facilitating the dissemination of information are provided & possible concerns of teachers & administrators are addressed. A checklist that can be used to quickly evaluate what services & policies for dissemination a school already has along with those it is lacking, is included. (28 refs)
