Abstract
Professional Organizations’ Position Statements on Physician-Assisted Suicide: a Case for Studied Neutrality
Quill T E~~Cassel C K
The authors briefly present data about severe suffering before death for terminally ill patients. They also review some of what is known about requests & responses for physician-assisted suicide in Oregon & in the rest of the US. In conclusion, they argue in favour of medical organizations’ taking a position of studied neutrality on the issue of physician-assisted suicide. (48 refs)
