Serotonin 5-HT1A, 5-HT1B, and 5-HT2A Receptor mRNA Expression in Subjects With Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia

The authors hypothesize the serotonergic system plays a role in the pathophysiology of both mood disorders & schizophrenia that can be detected at the level of transcript expression of serotonin receptors. The brains of suicide victims were included in their analyses. Findings are discussed. (78 refs)
