This paper reviews the prevalence of psychological & psychiatric disorders in some common dermatologic conditions & discusses some guidelines for the psychosocial & psychiatric management of these patients. A biopsychosocial approach to the assessment of the dermatologic patient is advocated, & the evaluation of suicide risk in dermatologic patients is discussed in detail. (87 refs)
