This article outlines the treatment of two adolescents who suffered trauma-related pathological grief after the suicide of one of their parents. Both parents served in the Royal Ulster Constabulary in Northern Ireland & pressures resulting from this contributed to the mental health problems experienced by the whole family. The author discusses the interaction between trauma & bereavement, using clinical vignettes to illustrate his themes. (7 refs)
