In this article, C Tatz responds to commentary by R Goldney on the author’s book entitled “Aboriginal Suicide is Different.” Goldney opined that Tatz’s book lacked scientific objectivity. Tatz replies that psychiatry & suicidology are not necessarily hard sciences & suggests that methods of the natural sciences are not always required in all areas of investigation.
