This article comments on an earlier treatment of Buddhist perspectives on end-of-life issues by D Keown. While the current author agrees with Keown’s analyses, he argues that Keown’s examples pertain to a rare & exceptional type of person, & offers his own Buddhist prohibitions of suicide for more ordinary persons.
