This article discusses the importance for clinical psychologists of acquiring a knowledge base & the clinical skills needed to evaluate & manage behavioral crises & emergencies. The author comments on how clinical psychology as a field has been slow to come to the realization that there is a need for more systematic training in this area. (7 refs)
