The Georgia Suicide Prevention Plan provides a framework for statewide involvement in suicide prevention at the local, regional & state levels. It proposes a five-step public health model of suicide prevention as a systematic approach to developing & implementing interventions that are effective in reducing suicide. Major action steps concering awareness, intervenion & methodology goals & objectives are presented. Strategies for effectively implementing the plan are also discussed. (18 refs)
