The validity of Suicide Risk Scale (SRS) & of the Self-Destructive Potential noteworthy items (SDP) of the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-II was examined in a sample of 32 forensic inpatients. Their sensitivity, specificity, positive & negative predictive power, & overall diagnostic power in discriminating patients with distant & recent suicidal behavior were computed. Both measures demonstrated good overall diagnostic power. The SRS was found to be the more effective measure. (27 refs)
