The authors describe the integration of service learning into 2 general education death-related courses. An overview of these courses is followed by an explanation of their rationale & the specific ways in which service learning infused them. The authors outline the preparation, action, reflection, & evaluation involved in making service learning a course feature. Feedback gathered from students & supervisors indicates that this strategy offers potential for grounding death education in real life experiences. (1 ref)
