Celebrating the First World Suicide Prevention Day: 10th September, 2003

In honour of the first World Suicide Prevention Day, the WHO & IASP have created this pamphlet outlining the challenge of suicide prevention from an international perspective. The impact of suicide, factors involved in suicidal behaviour, & suicide prevention techniques are discussed. WHO’s strategy for the development of an international initiative for the prevention of suicide is outlined & its goals described, emphasizing the need for intensified & coordinated action augmented by specialized research.
