This report presents 26 recommendations for the Prison Health Care Service, psychiatrists, & the British government to facilitate a decrease in the number of suicides among prison inmates. A summary of the research on which these recommendations are based is included. Recommendations include implementing anti-bullying programs in all prisons, increased research regarding suicide in the prison population, & stopping the use of seclusion & stripped cells as a means of management of suicidal prisoners.
