These letters to the editor are a response to the study by Hall et. al entitled ‘Association between antidepressant prescribing & suicide in Australia’. The authors state that Hall & colleagues were incorrect in stating that the reductions in suicide rates in older people could be attributed to their increased exposure to antidepressant. Statistical analyses, samples chosen, & studies contradicting Hall’s conclusions are cited as evidence that Hall’s conclusions are inaccurate. (13 refs) (SC)
