This study tested the hypothesis that a history of childhood sexual abuse predicts sexual behaviour carrying risk of transmission of human immunodeficiency to others. Results from a sample of 456 HIV-positive homosexual or bisexual men in New York & San Francisco supported the original hypothesis. It is noted that the sample was more likely to be depressed, anxious, suicidal, & to have higher rates of other psychiatric disorders. (30 refs) (SC)
