Unanticipated Benefits of Automative Emission Control: Reduction in Fatalities by Motor Vehicle Exhaust Gas

This pamphlet asserts that the implementation of strict controls on emissions in motor vehicle exhaust gas in the United States has decreased the number of associated fatal accidents & suicides using this method. The author states that this control of emissions saved approximately 1200 lives that may have been accidentally lost & avoided approximately 1400 suicides in 1987.
