This pamphlet provides information on suicide in Canada. It is noted that 1 in 13 Canadians are affected by suicide & suicidal behavior, regardless of age, culture, income & education. Groups at high risk for suicide are identified, including the elderly, aboriginals, & substance abusers. A description of the aims of Mental Illness Awareness Week is presented. Several suggestions on what an individual can do to prevent suicide are also included. Note that the text is available in French. (SC)
