This study attempted to develop an expert support system for the detection of suicide risk in patients with major psychiatric disorders using fuzzy adaptive learning control networks. The authors assert that a combined system of backpropogation neural networks enhanced with fuzzy logic & fuzzy adaptive learning control networks may improve the detection rate of medically serious suicide attempters during patient interviews.
