This paper describes the case of a 60-year-old man who died by suicide by ingestion of plant poison. According to results from a HPLC-DAD test, there were large amounts of Aconitum napellus extract found in the man’s blood & urine. The author asserts that accidental, suicidal or homicidal poisoning due to the ingestion of plant material remains a possibility & should be borne in mind when investigating sudden or unexplained death.
