This pamphlet summarizes evidence on the effectiveness of having school-based curriculum on suicide prevention programs for adolescence. The pamphlet suggests that their are mixed results on the outcomes of suicide risk behavior, knowledge, & attitudes. The evidence indicates beneficial & harmful effects with having suicide prevention programs, & in some cases indicated detrimental effects particularly among males. The findings of this pamphlet indicate that there is currently insufficient evidence to support school-based curriculum suicide prevention programs for adolescence. (42 refs.) (AK)
