This article argues that the use of home test kits for HIV is undesirable. Data from the US Air Force is used to support the author’s argument that HIV-seropositive persons have a high suicide attempt rate, & require face to face counselling & medical monitoring. It is found that many also require treatment with antidepressant medication. Other dangers of home test kits are also briefly discussed. (5 refs)
