The present study was designed to explore the level of subjective stress as reported by suicidal people and the type of response made to stress. College students were administered the Beck Depression Inventory (1961), the Langer sress scale (1962), and the Goleman mind/body response to stress scale (1986). Overall, the analysis found littel evidence that current suicidal preoccupation was related to current subjective stress or the type of response to stress. (4 refs)
