Helping traumatized people is gratifying but also brings risks. Caring people sometimes experience pain as a direct result of their exposure to other’s traumatic material. This paper discusses the emergence of information that forms the basis of our understanding of Compassion Fatigue & Compassion Stress. (72 refs)
