The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between suicide ideation & each of the following variables in a population of college students: depression, loneliness, stress, & hopelessness, as well as the relationship among each of the variables. The strongest associations were between suicide ideation & depression, followed by suicide ideation & hopelessness, & suicide ideation & loneliness. A strong association was found between depression & hopelessness, while moderate associations were found between depression & loneliness, & loneliness & hopelessness. (17 refs)
